SpeedRunners:The Board Game

Within the first half term at the Studio, I met an industry Partner for the Gaming industry. This man was called Matt Southern and he works in the other half of the Studio building. He previously worked for Sony and Evolution Studios and has helped create games such as Motor Sport and Drive club. He then left and created his own company. But why was he at the Studio?

He was there to work with the Creative Media students and assess the creativity and work that we produced. He gave us a brief, to create a card or board game, based on an existing game, Film or TV series. For my groups game, we chose to create a tile based board game, based on the Game, SpeedRunners. I was the artist and I made the visuals game. The Prototype we made was a success and then we were tasked with visually improving our board game. Below are the new tiles I created for this exact purpose. Their simplistic design was meant to help encourage people of all ages to get involved with the game, do to how easy the game appeared to be.
